Sheetz is a one-stop shop for all your convenience needs – alcohol included. But while Sheetz is open 24/7, that doesn’t mean you can walk in at any hour to purchase a pack of beer. So when does Sheetz stop selling beer, wine, and alcohol?

In this article, we’ll let you know how late you can get Sheetz alcohol and provide you with everything you need to know about this favorite convenience store and what you can get there.

What Is Sheetz?

Before getting into when Sheetz stops selling beer and alcohol, let’s go through what Sheetz is. If you aren’t from the eastern part of the U.S., there’s a chance that you’ve never heard of this chain.

Sheetz is a chain of convenience stores and coffee shops owned by the Sheetz family. In business since the 1950s, Sheetz offers typical convenience store items, coffee, and custom food.

One of the defining characteristics of Sheetz is that they are open 24/7, making it one of the most reliable stores in the country to get basic convenience needs.

Today, Sheetz is far from its humble beginnings, and you can find its 600+ stores in six states:

  • Pennsylvania
  • Maryland
  • Ohio
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • North Carolina

In these areas, Sheetz offers a variety of items and services. Let’s check out what Sheetz is known for.

What Can You Get at Sheetz?

Sheetz is mainly known for three commodities: food, drinks, and gas.

Some food items that you’ll find at Sheetz include:

  • Breakfast sandwiches
  • Burgers
  • Hot dogs
  • Baked goods

Sheetz has a few well-known dishes, including their MTO menu and Shweetz bakery to-go. Some of their most popular food include:

  • Fried pickle chips
  • Mac n Cheese bites
  • Jalapeno poppers
  • Fryz platter

Beyond food, Sheetz is well known for its coffee and offers its own brand, Sheetz Bros. Coffeez, which is supposed to be of higher quality than what you typically find at grocery stores. All locations also include a specialty coffee bar where you can get espresso and lattes.

Almost all Sheetz stores sell gas, and a few are full-scale truck stops that offer laundromats and showers to truck drivers. They are the biggest gas station chain in Pennsylvania.

By now, it seems like you can get everything at Sheetz, any time of day. This is true for most products, with a few exceptions, the most significant being the sale of alcohol. While every Sheetz is now open 24/7, they still have to adhere to state laws, which means they can’t sell alcoholic beverages 24/7.

So are you wondering what time your closest Sheetz store stops selling alcohol? Let’s find out.

When Does Sheetz Stop Selling Beer and Alcohol?

Many people exclusively get their beer from local Sheetz locations due to the store’s convenience. It’s also when many people make their first alcohol purchase on their 21st birthday (with proper identification, of course).

However, knowing when Sheetz stops alcohol and beer sales is essential to prevent a potentially failed Sheetz run.

You’ll find that most Sheetz locations typically stop selling alcohol at 1:45 AM, depending on your location. Why? Because most state laws, including Pennsylvania, prohibit the sale of alcohol after 2:00 AM, with alcohol sale hours restricted to 7:00 AM to 2:00 AM Monday-Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Sundays. To give enough buffer time for customers to reach check out before 2:00 AM hits, many stores will stop serving a few minutes before then.

This rule differs depending on the state. For example, in Virginia, alcohol sales stop at midnight, so Sheetz in the state will stop selling alcohol at around 11:45 PM.

So if you know you’ll need to stock up on some beer at Sheetz, make sure you know your state’s restrictions on the sale of alcohol, and hit your closest Sheetz convenience store at least 15 minutes early!
